DTV STREAMING REMOTE HAS LOST SOME FUNCTIONS WHEN NAVIGATING INPUT SELECTION

Perhaps because of the recent update, I now have to use my Samsung remote to select inputs.  My DTV remote can still call up the input screen and navigate the selection, but the "select" central button doesn't work  (usually). That's when I have to go to the Samsung remote. I don't know how I lost this capability, or how to get it back. Any help?  I think there are a few other things I've lost, too, but don't remember.

I've restarted the box, my laptop and the TV with no results.  Any ideas ?

Thanks for reaching out, @jronn.  Let’s get your remote working again with these quick steps:

- Reset Power: Take the batteries out for a few seconds, put them back in, or swap them for a fresh set.
- Unpair Remote: If that fails, hold the DASH (–) and APPS buttons until the LED blinks blue twice.
- Restart Gemini: Press the red button on your device or unplug it from the wall, then plug it back in.
- Re-pair Remote: Once the device reboots, hold FAST FORWARD and REWIND together for 2–3 seconds until you see the onscreen confirmation.

My remote is otherwise working fine, but when cycling through the "source" function, the central OK/Select button doesn't work when I want to select a source;  neither does the highlighted source tile eventually activate the chosen source - I have to use the Samsung remote.

Don't know if it's relevant, but I think after I reset the remote as you instructed above in this thread,  the presentation on my TV screen of the available inputs changed. It used to show the sources at the top of the screen, and suddenly it was a large box with six sources. Can't finish the selection, so the box doesn't disappear with the DTV remote, have to use the Samsung remote.

While I'm here, does anybody know why, when I mirror some content (not all) everything works except the picture. Conversely, when I make a direct wire connections to the TV the same show will work. These may be only national network shows where this happens. It can't just be that the content is forbidden to be "broadcast" can it? Doesn't seem to make sense.

We appreciate you trying the troubleshooting steps for your remote control. More fix tips here: Get help with your DIRECTV Gemini Air or remote | DIRECTV Support Regarding your question about mirroring content, network programmers frequently apply digital restrictions to certain shows, which can lead to audio-only broadcasts with no video. It might work via physical wire because HDMI cables support secure, encrypted end-to-end hardware validation that wireless casting lacks. John, DIRECTV Community Team
