How to configure Orei Downscaler for Gemini Air on older LG TV

I am trying to use a Gemini Air on an LG 55LE8500 TV.  The TV is 16 years old and only has v1.3 HDMI ports.  I have a strong wifi signal (verified two ways).  The Gemini Air ‘sees’ the Directv feed just fine, but after a few minutes goes to a blank screen when trying to open (watch) live TV or ‘My Library’ recordings.  I understand this is probably an HDMI handshake issue.  Repeated Customer Service phone conversations offered no help.  Based on web research I purchased an Orei XD-3000 downscaler and installed it between the Gemini Air and the TV HDMI port.  There are 4 DIP switches on the XD-3000: three for EDID settings and one for HDCP.  With the three EDID DIP switches set to 0 (down) and the HDCP DIP set to 1 (up), I am having more success – some of the I can watch live or recorded programs, but other times it still goes blank.  Sorry for the long intro, but here are my questions: Can anyone tell me how the DIP switches should be set for this configuration?  Or, if the XD-3000 is not the right solution, does anyone know a better alternative?  Thanks in advance for your help.

HDCP is a requirement of the networks. Gemini Air is backwards compatible to HDCP 1.4 but your TV has 1.3. That is practically guaranteed the reason for the blank screen.

Downscaling is not the issue. Networks want to protect their HD content from unauthorized recording so have made this a rather hard requirement for TV providers.

If someone has more info on that device to adapt the Gemini Air, hopefully they will chime in. Otherwise, adapting to component/composite cabling or replacing the TV would be the options.
