NBA Season Pass from Satellite to Stream

Currently a Directv satellite customer. I’ve purchased the NBA Pass. I’m interested in moving over to Directv Stream. Is it possible to take my NBA Pass sub with me?

Sorry, I don’t think so. Since they are two different services, you can’t take advantage of a subscription on DIRECTV satellite for DIRECTV STREAM. I suggest you continue to subscribe to satellite for the remainder of the season or do a free trial of DIRECTV STREAM to test it out for the time being (no charge to you).

Understood, thanks. Disappointing that a subscription like that can't be moved inside the same company, especially as a 27-year customer. Certainly, would have kept me with DirecTV by moving over to Stream, now will have to look at all options once the NBA regular season completes.

Have you contacted Customer Service to see if they have a way to transfer the subscription?  It's likely a fairly rare request - there's no way anyone "out here" would know, but perhaps there is a way.  If the first level support rep doesn't know, ask to be escalated.

Though they share an owner, DirecTV, DIRECTV STREAM (formally AT&T TV and before that DIRECTV NOW), and even U-Verse TV (grandfathered) have no interaction with each other. They are different TV providers, so each has different licenses with the content providers (like for NBA League Pass) so cannot be transferred between them.

As AT&T has allocated the management reins to the new co-owner, we are waiting to see if there are any major changes (service and/or equipment) in the works. Time will tell.

Unless there is any big announcement in the future, just view DIRECTV STREAM and DirecTV (satellite) as different companies.
