Only some Samsung TVs have the DirecTV Stream App. You can connect a Roku, Fire or Apple TV box to their TV and use its DirecTV Stream App with your account login & password. 

Thank you. But would it limit you if all are on at the same time? I ask because she has 2 TVs and we have 3. Not that it’s going to stop me from trying :) but wondering if we will be limited on how many TVs can be on

If you have DIRECTV STREAM you can download the app on compatible devices (Roku, Firestick, some "smart" TVs, etc.).

If you have DirecTV (satellite service), the DirecTV app is not downloadable on any streaming to TV device or "smart" TV. You pay for each authorized TV on the service. Streaming options are limited secondary perks, not a way to get a free TV. Also, as sports teams, locals, and taxes you are required to pay are based on your physical service address, is other reasons you are not allowed to account share.

Remember DIRECTV STREAM and DirecTV are two separate TV providers that AT&T owns and don't interact with each other. And there is not Direct TV, so watch out for misspellings like that so you don't get caught in a scam.

I’m not looking for it to be free. A previous streaming TV service allows 5 family members on the plan. Honestly I want that and am tempted to go back if I can’t get that with this streaming service. But I’m going to try it out. Just trying to help out my Mother in law! 👍🏻

No worries. I was just clarifying the differences and reasoning between DirecTV and DIRECTV STREAM. As you said, "Direct TV streaming", wasn't sure which service you actually had as they both have an app but work differently.

Both having DirecTV in the name has caused a lot of confusion. AT&T is really horrible about naming their services.
