Replacing the DirecTV C71KW-400 box

Does the new HDMI stick have the same functionality as the old box? Hitting the power on button on my remote turns on the box, the Sharp-ROKU TV and my LG soundbar. Does the stick do the same thing? If so, what’s the cost?

Yes, @cmmcd54. You can absolutely keep that same "one-button" power setup with our newer device! The new device is the Gemini Air dongle. It plugs right behind your TV, connects over Wi-Fi, and handles your setup perfectly. Here is what you need to know:

- Power & Volume Control: You can program the Gemini remote to sync with both your Sharp-ROKU TV and your LG soundbar.

- Better Picture: For the best quality, make sure HDR is turned on via your Sharp TV settings (Settings > Device Preferences > Picture > HDR > AUTO).

- The Cost: The Gemini Air is available to lease for a flat rate of $10 a month. There is no extra charge to stream 4K content.

You can order one directly by logging into your account online and checking the Equipment section or chat with us here: DIRECTV Customer Service - Phone Support & Chat Kenneth, DIRECTV Community Team

The Gemini Air, the dongle version of the Gemini, is WiFi-only. The Gemini box you have is both WiFi and wired capable. Beyond that capability is essentially the same. It uses the same RC8X series remote.
