Why can't I get directv on my samsung screen?

IS the app Not in the Tv's Play store? if its not then Samsung has no agreement with D*tv

DO you have a DIRECT TV Stream Account? 

I will check the TV play store.  I do not have as of yet any DIrecTV account of any kind.  I am trying to get directv on my samsung.

In order to use the APP you will need a Direct tv Account -just like with any other Streaming app

Hi, @cgibson792. While UN65KS8000 model (2016 Tizen-based Smart TV) is a great screen, the DIRECTV app works on Samsung models from 2017 and later that have version 3 or higher. Unfortunately your TV is too old to be supported by the app. Instead you would need a dedicated streaming box (if you don't want to buy a new TV).

Always check requirements first for any kind of service or computer program. Don't assume they work on something, especially when a decade old.

Speaking with an ATT office, I was informed the same fact as the screen being pre-2018. I was shown a device for getting DT on that screen which comes with the DT subscription and this worked out great.   Thanks for your input.  Have a great summer.

Just remember that AT&T no longer owns DirecTV. Even when they did, any office you go into was 3rd party as store employees worked for the AT&T side. So be cautious with any info they provide.
