Alleged AT&T solicitors came to my door

Has anyone had people saying they're with AT&T come to your door? I had a couple men come to my door trying to sell me on a deal with Direct Tv and offering a "better deal" even after I told them I'm with AT&T and happy with my current service and cost!

They came to my door and I told them I was already with att and they said we will give you internet and direct Tv with home phone for 122 a month all you have to do is change it under someone else's name and if you have cell phone we will give you unlimited data, and also promised me a 300 gift card. Changed service under my husbands name all they have is was direct tv no internet and no home phone, has this been the case why would I cancel. Have tired to speak to a manger they say we will have They call you back no manager/supervisor calls back been dealing with this for the last 2 weeks I have never dealt with a company that does not care for it customers I have talked to 10 different people all to say Well I don't handle that another dept does. I have all text message saved from there rep who promised all this... I believe all who have had problems like this should think about small claims court. I spoke to there att stor in Arden and the gentleman told me he gets so many calls about how customers are promised and they don't follow thur. I have been without internet services for the past 2 weeks along with my home phone which I have had that number for the last 25 plus years. Att does nothing and I mean nothing to help there customers

Female rang doorbell with stat polo shirt and told use that if we sign up for at&t u verse that we can combine my and wife's cell plan with our at&t internet promised that were then in a fixed rate of 288 dollars for whole package or bundle.even had little computer with her and pink form with at&t logo. Saying also that the promotion gets us a free Samsung galaxy 8...? Then says wait three days after your cable is swapped from dish network before combining plans which she said had to be done at at&t store near me. Well guess what we took deal because we figured..why not we trust at&t after all we've been with them for 15 years and had no reason to doubt this professional action "Cierra" (her name and employee number were not legit. At&t store has ABSOLUTELY no knowledge of any plan resembling that great bundle and said and we defiantly will never hand you a free 8 galaxy. At&t acknowledged that the employee#was that of a make who's name could not be given to me since I said it was a girl who's done this to me. I then called all AT&T 800 numbers of ABSOLUTELY any department. Only to get treated like we have not ever done business with them and that there's nothing to do but call our AT&T fraudulent claims department.? I'll update soon as I hear anything.DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANY DOOR TO DOOR SALES..TELL THEM YOU ARE CALLING THE COPS also AT&T... YOU NEED TO FIX THIS OR YOUR GOING TO LOSE LONG TIME GREAT CUSTOMERs

Just had the AT&T solicitors in our neighborhood.  Nasty, nasty people who stated they were not "soliciting" just "visting" house to house.  No Soliciting sign erected by the police department in the front of the development.  Apparently, AT&T does not require their employees to read.  Police called and the entire neighborhood alerted on Facebook.

Door-2-Door solicitors are not AT&T employees but are employed by an outside source and yes, they'll do anything for a sale.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

Allegiance, a "AT&T Service Provider" just came to my condo building and tried to gain access. I wouldn't let him in (he randomly rang my number on the intercom). He claimed to have appointments with people in the building but they weren't answering the phone. He also claimed that those appointments were to let people know about the upgrades made recently to the service (upgrades made in the back of the building in the alley).

1. If these people had appointments, why weren't they home?

2. My unit is in the back of the building. AT&T was not and has not been doing any work.

Allegiance is a "sales and marketing" company and they send aggressive sales people out. An elderly woman accidentally let him in. I saw her let him in and watched from an upper floor balcony to see what he would do. He did not go directly to someone's unit. Nope. He walked directly over to the first door, and knocked. Yup. He cold called. When I called down and asked him to leave, and explained to the woman answering the door what happened, he refused to leave. I had to call the police.

I don't know why AT&T allows this type of person to represent them. I also don't know why I cannot seem to find anyone to call and register a formal complaint with -- either Alliance or AT&T.

That said, please beware of this scam. This is all it is. There is no "upgrade" of lines, all this person was doing was trying to sell DirectTV to people in my building. Lies upon lies upon lies!

Right, so AT&T hires 3rd party sales reps that work with AT&T. Most of them do Not have a AT&T logo shirt, some do. What you need to actually ask for though for your security is their AT&T Dealer Code. Should be Military alphabet ex. (YWKTJ). This is an authorized AT&T Dealer. Anyone who doesn’t have one or does not know what theirs is, is a probably a fraud.

I live in a rural development North Carolina.  Last night a young woman wearing a white polo shirt and khaki's was standing on my porch. I came out to talk to her and she said she was the new ATT area sales rep and that she would be assisting all of us in this area.  She asked general questions about who we have (ATT).  She had a clipboard and a name tag that didn't look most corporate name tags I've seen.  I tried many ATT numbers today and finally got someone in tech support who said ATT does not send out sales people to residential areas.  So, question:  Does ATT do this or not?  It's not super safe for a young woman to go house to house alone and since we've had some break ins around here, she could wind encountering law enforcement or worse someone with a gun.  Just saying.

My elderly parents had ONE person who did NOT ring their doorbell hang around on their porch until Dad noticed her and went to see what she was up to. She wanted to sell him AT&T Directv. Thank goodness Mom didn’t answer the door, as it would only have confused her. I’ve never heard of AT&T selling door to door. I finally got my parents to understand that many phone calls are scams, and now I have to start the process over to deal with supposed salespeople at the door.

I had an AT&T salesperson come to my door and I was suckered.  He promised me a great TV package and a reduced rate, which did happen, but he also promised fiber optics in my neighborhood and a BOGO offer on the iPhoneX.  It didn't take long for the BOGO offer to disappear.  I'm only getting 1.5 GB on the internet.  I'm still waiting for the fiber.  I'm going back to Comcast for the faster internet.

Last week a man claiming to be from AT&T came to our door. I had had surgery earlier in the week and was in bed. The man had opened our storm door and pounded on our front door loud enough to wake me up. My wife answered the door. He started his pitch, she told him she wasn't interested. He kept talking. She asked if he didn't see our 10" x 12" "No Salesmen - No Solicitors" sign next to the front door". He kept talking. She repeated we had no interest in changing carriers. He kept talking and was holding the storm door wide open. She was pushing the front door closed and he tried to hold it open with his foot. Now my usually quiet wife is getting angry and when she does isn't afraid of anyone, man or woman. I heard her tell him loudly, "Get your foot out of my door or you're going to lose your toes!" I heard the door slam. This man had no car. A paper AT&T badge with no picture or name that looked like it was made on a cheap printer. Said he was dropped off in a van to "work" the subdivision across the street and the houses on the main road like ours. Other salespeople were taken to different neighborhoods.

Today, he came back again, TWICE. Once at 10 am and again just before dark, about 5:30 pm. Both times he did the same opening the storm door and pounding on the steel front door. This time we didn't answer. If this is how AT&T does business, they just lost any chance of us ever becoming a customer.

AT&T solicitor teams are working my Sacramento Ca neighborhood again. They pounded on my door and rang my doorbell for 5 minutes. This team refused to stop trying to sell me even after repeatedly being told "not interested". i finally asked them to "Leave now!", and still they continued to press. I finally got them to leave by asking if I had to physically remove them from the property.
AT&T wins no friends or converts with these tactics, needs to rein in their contractors.

Yes, he knocked on my door at 8:30 on a Saturday night. AT&T just installed Fiber. After an hour he guaranteed me a price and I signed the contract. Now I get the bill for higher amount. I call the rep who was at my home. Phone is Disconnected. I go to his office and found them gone. Leasing agent tells me the AT&T rep died last week. I do NOT believe it. After long phone calls and CHATs with AT&T, they are not budging and will not honor the contract I have. The District Attorney's office here tells me to ask them for a copy of the contract they have. If they have a contract other than the one I have, they have committed fraud. I am waiting on a written response from AT&T........

I have a fun story about working with Stephanie, an ATT wireless door to door rep who basically followed our ATT internet installer to our house to sell us on switching to wireless.  Well the promo was to buy us out of our existing phone contracts with Sprint, up to 750 per line. We hadn’t iPhone 7s about a year or so old in perfect condition. The deal was they take our phones, cancel sprint for us. We get new phones thru them (paid half up front and paying monthly for the rest) we submit our final bill with sprint showing what’s left of the phone contracts and ATT reimbursed up to 750 for each line. I read thru asked questions, was told this is not dependent on the phones, strictly what is due on your bill. Was even told we would get the same deal if we were giving them iPhone 6’s! Well flash forward 5 months later, after going back and forth with trying to see where this 730 dollars is (240 roughly for each phone) I have been told it’s still processing, and then today I’m told that I can only get 40 dollars per line because they take away whatever the phone has devalued by. Keep in mind this is just some att rebate call center where I can’t get a manager to speak to me. I’ve attempted to contact the salesperson repeatedly, asked for her manager, she does not return my calls or texts, I have called ATT directly and they tell me to call the rebate line, I’ve blasted them on Twitter, no response so I finally filed an official complaint with BBB today for fraudulent practices and requesting the full amount be reimbursed. If this doesn’t happen when ATT responds to them I am going to look at next steps. To top it all off this isn’t even the ONLY problem we have had with ATT wireless internet or directv, the whole company has caused us nothing but headaches, customer service is a nightmare (not surprising) and the actual service itself is spotty at best. So steer clear if you can.
