AT&T cannot close my account
Hi all,
I currently have a bundled Uverse TV, internet, and phone package and I placed an order back on April 6th to transfer my services to a new address in another state where I will be moving to in a few days. On April 9th, I decided to cancel my AT&T services altogether, as the cost of my package is right at the edge of my budget and I had been looking into cheaper options. I spoke to a customer representative that day to inform them that I wanted to cancel my move order and close my account, and she went ahead and did as I requested. However, she said that some "glitch" in the system prevented the cancellation from going through. It's now been two weeks since my initial call to cancel and I have spoken to over six customer service representatives about my dilemma, with each putting me on hold for inordinately long times (some of these phone calls have been over 2 and half hours long!). Still nothing....getting very tired of this and the run around that I am getting from everyone at AT&T. Each phone call is the same routine...chat with someone in the "back office" and put me on hold for an hour, reassuring me that they will get the problem resolved in no time, but yet always come back empty. I'm moving in a few days and I have no resolution to this problem. Why does no one know how to close my account?? To top it all off, the address on my move order has the incorrect state listed! Has anyone experienced something like this before? How can I go about getting help with closing my Uverse account?
