Can I get an AMERICAN agent???

I have called and chatted around the world this morning trying to get an AMERICAN agent to discuss my account and an hour later, I still have no number to contact an AMERICAN agent. I refuse to discuss my account with anyone other than an American. Can someone please post a phone number to a call center located in AMERICA?

Well, guess you won't be discussing your account w/anyone then.  No other numbers allowed to go around the 800-288-2020 main #. Smiley Surprised

Why does that matter to you?

I personally don't care.

When you called did you ask to speak to someone in the USA? I have had some unpleasant experiences with the "offshore agents" and refuse to speak to them. They may disconnect or hang up on you. Call again!

Why is getting assistance from an AMERICAN so important to you? Why not let the professional on the phone attempting to assist you do the job they are being paid to do?

It is important to me to speak with an American on American soil that I can understand and understands me! They are rude and very difficult to understand .. We pay tons of money to ATT and they send it 'offshore' and force us to deal with foreigners... Never once have I receive a successful conclusion from a foreigner ... It definitely matters!!

Like most American companies (H.P., Dell etc.), they work on a tiered system. Usually the more complicated and tech specific a problem is, it moves up the tiers and most of the time is on our soil.

If you can get through to retentions those agents are usually top shelf.

Guess I must be special, they've solved 3-4 TS things for me the last few years, late nite and weekends.  Were not rude to me, the Filipinos listened to what I was saying and came up w/solutions. Smiley Very Happy

Guess you have not been reading the posts last couple weeks complaining about Retentions.  They are just interested in moving Uverse TV users to DirecTV on a big discount 1st yr, then $30-40 more 2d yr of 2yr contract.

They are just blowing users off that don't want DirecTV.  Then ATT Customer Care is taking off where Retentions left off b4 the DirecTV blitz.

Just upgrading users then discounting that, but not as low as current services.  No contracts or discounts for current services. Smiley Surprised

America is a very diverse country and ATT is a diverse employer. Getting an agent with an accent does not mean it is a foreigner or a call center outside the country. It could very well be a US agent in a US call center.

Speaking with someone who speak English as a first language is much less frustrating.  I have been talking in circles for twenty minutes.  They are trying to cookie cut my answer by reading off of a repsonse sheet.  I need someone who can use logic when I speak in English.

I've had an account for over 15 years, I get billed every month for phone services & I want to add additional services to my plan. Today I spent three hours speaking to SEVEN different reps that couldn't find my account when I gave them all my account number, phone number, name & address. How the heck do I resolve this?! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I once had a customer said everytime he asked for an "on site" rep, he was transfered to someone in his region I.e. Midwest, southwest, etc etc. As for ordering additional services, try calling and saying you want new services, like your a new customer. Some cases it may work in your favor, just remember to request the same phone number with the new services.

I know how frustrating this is I have been dealing with direct tv for a month now, originally  I called to have my acct. canceled agent said that I was still under contract for a few more months so I said ok I will finish my contract out. Instead they withdrew almost $500.00 from  my acct. for they say equipment not being returned causing a huge overdraft I called for almost a month now to get this resolved. Being promised to have this matter taken care of. First they said 24 hrs. they would have money back in my acct. and now almost a month later only a part of my money has been returned. Agents are given american names try to sweet talk you in to being patient well I'm still waiting!!!!! I don't blame you for wanting to talk to an AMERICAN!!! Good Luck!
