Canceled Within First 30 Days & Returned Equipment. Now Getting a HUGE Bill!
I ordered a Uverse triple bundle (phone/Uverse/Internet) online last month. The installation fee was waived (due to the online order--I printed and saved the online order just in case I needed it in the future---glad I did!), and the total estimated amount including junk fees, taxes, etc. was $124.99 per month. I was also informed by an online CHAT agent at that time that I could cancel within the first 30 days, return the equipment immediately, and be charged NOTHING. Service was installed on Sept. 27th and on October 17th I disconnected and went back to my previous provider (Charter Spectrum) due to issues with the internet speed. Imagine my surprise when I received an online bill today for $176.45. I went on to CHAT with a billing rep. a few minutes ago and was told that the 30 day initial period allowed for canceling BUT that there would still be prorated charges incurred for the services. Even though that is not what I was led to believe when I signed up, I would consider paying a portion of that $124.99 monthly charge for the 20 days they were in use HOWEVER that should yield a bill for 2/3rds of the $124.99 full-month bill, or approximately $82 and change. I am not conveniently located near an AT&T store so appealing this in person is not an option. Is there an address to which I can file an appeal for adjusting this bill?

So to clarify, he gets to try a $125 service for 30 days "risk free," but if he decides it's not for him, he is charged even more? So what makes it risk free then? Seems like it's a greater risk than simply paying your bill... [Edited to comply with Guidelines] It's either risk free or it isn't. And this one isn't. So either AT&T is falsely advertising, or it is breaching its contract with customers who cancel within 30 days.

This company lies and cheats their customers. First, I was promised a fiber connection with at minimum 300 mbps speed. They locked me into a 12 month contract and then when they installed said fiber wasn’t available and I was give Internet 12 (that’s 12 mbps downtown and 1 mbps upload). Because I own a video production company and upload very large files this made it impossible to work. WORST OF ALL...I tried to cancel on the 30th day of service and was still billed the early disconnect because their guarantee apparently means 29 days or less. I am making it my mission to ensure I let any and all people know that this company is underhanded and will outright lie to scam you out of money.

I know AT&T is dishonest and will cheat and lie. That is why I cancelled and went back to Spectrum. I have been trying over a month to get my credit balance refunded and am still fighting with them. I have sent a letter to the corp. office and hope they will send me my refund. You will have to find the address on your own as they will delete it if I post the address so use google to find the address.

I am on the same mission! Im on month 3 of a blood boiling scam from AT&T. I called to get internet and after 2 hrs of communicating about the internet i was supposedly getting, I had given the AT&T representative all my information. Turned out this employee used my information to buy me a tablet! Total scam and the bill is still on my account. Every time I call in it’s a terrible experience and the ppl always say it will come off soon.

Canceled Within First 30 Days & Returned Equipment. Now Getting a HUGE Bill of $180.00!!!!
I been told by Kiara & Steven on February 2nd 2019 the day of my request that I was going to get 50 mbps and I only got 25 can't even watch movies. I feel very offended and been MISLEAD & LIED, I am very disappointed.
Very Very slow internet, can't download program it took 4 hours and did not completed still. I had to take my computer to another place to download and it downloaded in 4 minutes.
There is a recording of all my conversations from day ONE (2/2/2019) that I have 30 days to use the services and if I am NOT happy I could cancelled any time with no penalties. Today 3/12 (less then a month) I am requesting cancellation now Adam is telling me that I have a cancellation fee of $180. dollars...really?
I am NOT entitle to pay anything because I am cancelling within first the 30 days. That is not my responsibilities.
