Conflicting Information to Add New Cell Phone to my Uverse Account
I have spent many hours today trying to get my new cell phone (GoPhone) on Uverse account with my landline phone and internet access. My last attempt I waited a half hour and was told one minute, then disconected. (I do NOT have TV.)
I was told when I ordered the SIM for this phone it could be changed to the old cell phone number and on UVerse just as I had the old cell phone. Today I get conflicting information from goPhone, UVerse, and in the store one of them sent me.

I don't understand what you mean by adding a (pre-paid) Go Phone to your U-verse account. Can you explain what that would look like?

I had a cell phone on UVerse before, but I canceled that because of complaint with the manufacturer. Then I bought a cell phone I will be happy with from a local store, and had no choice from them but goPhone which I was told could be converted to UVerse by AT&T. Trying that I have been switched from one office to another to the store and could not get it done.

(The UVerse account I already have contains a landline and internet access. I just want to add the cell phone to the same account as I had one there before.)

You cannot have a cellular phone "on a U-verse account." You can connect a cellular phone that has Wi-Fi capability to the Wi-Fi on the U-verse network and make use of that. If you have a Microcell, you can connect that to your U-verse network and by extension a cellular phone to that.
I think you can even have an AT&T Wireless account linked to a U-verse Account somehow for joint billing? Maybe? But, you'd have to have an AT&T Wireless Account first, and with a GoPhone, you don't have an account at all, right? You have a pre-paid device?

I have WiFi network in my home probably related to the internet access and cell phone I had before, but that has nothing to do with the problem. I just want the new cell phone on the same Uverse account I already have. It is just a new phone on the same account the old phone had.

Is it that you're trying to transfer the telephone number from your U-verse Voice account to your GoPhone?

No, vice versa: from GoPhone I never had before, to Uverse I already had.

I still don't understand what you're trying to do. Sorry, I don't think I can advise you.

I've never heard of "having a cell phone" on a Uverse account.
Surely the OP is referring to combined billing.

Yes, and if that's what he means, he needs to convert his GoPhone into a standard post-paid mobile account and then do combined billing. But my head hurts trying to follow this.

@marvinlzinn1needs to understand that Uverse offers three products: TV, internet, home phone (aka VOIP). That's it...3. Those 3 services are available in any combination and or all three. If the customer has ATT cell phone service it is separate but can POTENTIALLY be combined with the Uverse bill.
I have Uverse TV/Internet/VOIP. I have ATT cell service (2 lines). I choose to NOT combine my billing. This strictly my personal preference. But if one decides to have combined billing, it's 2 separate services combined into one bill.
*off to find the Tylenol.

I just want my new cell phone billed with other products the same as they were with the old phone. I spent most of the day trying to do this, and sent a letter to two AT&T addresses defining it. I spoke with about 20 customer service people, and got a lot of different answers, but most likely GoPhone is so new there is no correct answer available. Also they were so busy I always had to wait more than 30 minutes for most calls I tried.
Either they will call me back (as a survey today requested), or I will wait for a reply to my letters.

A GoPhone is a pre-paid device. It is not billed.
Therefore, it is literally impossible to comine the bill with anything....there is no bill!
If GoPhone is your only option for cell service, you will need to make the payments monthly (either through auto-pay or by logging on to your account/going to the AT&T store).
As someone mentioned earlier, if you can get post-paid cell service, you are billed monthly, so it is possible to combine with Uverse (as you had before).
