Is Uverse false advertising?

I have a bone to pick with the advertising as I tried to sign up for a service today only to be hit with a hidden fee that support says nothing can be done about. As I dug to learn all I could, I got the following explanation.

: $39 Bundle Offer with HBO Included (U-verse TV + High Speed Internet with 12-month Discount): For new residential U-verse customers. Price for U-basic TV with HBO and Internet Max Plus (18MBps). Available online only at att.com. 12-month term required. An early termination fee of up to $180 may apply if U-verse TV service is disconnected before end of term. Must maintain qualifying services for continued receipt of credits. After 12 months standard rates apply for all services unless canceled by customer. Installation fee of $99 applies. Offer ends July 5, 2014.

All and all, this says I need to pay a 99 installation. I am okay with that. So I continue to process my order.....

As I go through it, it says I can not use internet without the router, which is $7 a month. Here in lies the rub. The offer clearly says bundle of TV and Internet for $39 plus install. It even gives an opton for a $10 upgrade to go HD. Again, very clear and nothing wrong with that. HOWEVER, there is physically no way at all to get the internet to work without the $7 a month fee. That said, how can it be advertised as such when no one can technically get the service in the format in which is it discribed at the price it is listed for.

To me this is a false advertisment. I would have been happy to complete my order if not for this reason. [Edited to comply with Guidelines]

So, what's the problem, EVERY provider requires you to pay a fee for their equipment.

I am experiencing the similar issue.  I use ATT Cell , Home Phone, and TV with DVR and HD and Wireless receivers. Works good.  HOWEVER. The Internet is terrible. So I removed the Internet and went with Cox Communications.  NOW, LINDA LISTEN... When you shift to the music channels, there's now an interactive feature called StingRay, which you can no longer access music or any other channels requiring interaction because I don't have ATT INTERNET!

I called ATT because if I'm paying for the U300 service, and I don't have access to all of the channels indicated, should I pay less?  Should I get some credit? or am I being billed illegally because I am not being provided the channels listed in the U300 service?!?!?!?    I called customer service (India), and Ralph tried to upgrade me to a U400 series service rather than trying to put me at ease, he tried to sell me more stuff!!! my goodness. I read the fine print on terms and conditions and it doesnt indicate that they have the capability of false advertising with conditions.   Why can't I use my other internet provider?  I'm at AH and ready to end this and take [Edited to comply with Guidelines] . Unbelieveable.

@Ram619  Uverse internet is required to access certain TV apps (ie: Stingray, IHeartRadio).  UV internet is also required to program your DVR remotely.

I'm sure this disclaimer is in the advertising somewhere.

Edit:  FOUND IT HERE!

This is an interactive app
This app allows your receiver remote to interact with your TV to enhance your entertainment experience.

Requires access to U-verse TV and U-verse Internet. Data charges may apply. Stingray Music USA’s Terms & Conditions apply.

Do you really think that they pay their lawyers exorbitant amounts of money and then NOT have that posted????? Smiley LOL
