Missing out on tv that is valuable to me!
Att has until August 12th to settle with nexstar and restore my local fox channel! If that doesn't happen I will absolutely be switching providers!!! I will not miss out on football games!!!

I will deal with it when it happens. Apparently att is not going to settle with nexstar and I'm not going to continue to miss out on my favorite local channel. If a store stopped carrying your favorite item then you would go to another store!

What will you do when your new provider goes through the same thing? Nexstar which pulled your local Fox channel and is greedy and any paid TV service you switch to in your area has to deal with the same owner and when they have to go through negotiations they will pull the feed on that provider just like they did with your current TV provider! Don't believe me Dish Network is still going through this with them since the beginning of this year and Directv/Directv Stream is going through this as well! Hulu, YouTube TV, and Fubo TV had the same issue but they finally settled on an agreement. So hopefully you get my point this company does this to all paid TV providers that they deal with!

Just like the rest of you, I’m sick of not having NBC and the local news.
Does anyone really know if ATT is doing anything about this?
I’m thinking of changing my provider also but obviously ATT does not care if they lose subscribers.

@Lily10252022 They are trying to come to an agreement but Nexstar is playing hardball. AT&T is giving a one-time credit of $10 if you go to www.directv.com/tvpromise this is for Directv and U-Verse Customers! This would cover the cost of Peacock for at least a month if not more as long as you can stream it. So you would no longer be without NBC while they negotiate.

The one time credit should be automatic! Why should I have to apply for it?

Yes this is not a good situation. Nexstar pulled their feed to try and hardball AT&T/DirecTV into higher costs. Naturally if AT&T/DirecTV's operating costs go up, then so do our bills. Like other TV providers, AT&T/DirecTV negotiates to try and minimize the cost increase. Would be nice if there were none at all but the channel owners keep succeeding in pushing it higher even a little bit.
Like many others, I did not go to pay TV to get my locals. I don't want to pay more for channels that are free over the regular airways. So I suggest everyone who can to use a regular (well now digital) antenna to get the free broadcast. May even get additional channels in the area not carried on the TV provider in the first place.
No TV provider is immune from this situation. Nexstar is one of the worst (if not the actual worst) when it comes to these negotiations. And they like having their agreement come up during sports seasons to try and leverage us customers that much more.
As TV providers do not own the channels, as shown by situations like this, they all have a clause that channels and their programming may change at any time. There is no guarantee or entitlement to any channel, and as such there is no obligated credit when this happens. As long as you get a single local channel, then you are getting what you pay for as packages include locals in general.
(edited to clarify this covers all TV services under the AT&T umbrella)
