My Uverse bill has increased 40% AT&T - Loyalty no longer supporting Uverse and cannot offer bundle deal in my area with Directv Stream
I have been with AT&T for over 10years, bundle deal phone, Uverse TV and Internet - every year it is the same thing price goes up and I have to barter with Loyalty desk to get my price back down. Today same thing but loyalty has changed a lot, my Uverse had a 40% increase YIKES spoke with Loyalty Jose who told me he could lower it by $20 and they no longer offer promos - I said do not bother, I hung up the phone went online to see many promos still being offered by AT&T.. so back on phone spoke with Art who said that Jose had placed an order on my account and it was still open so they could not help at this time, then spoke to another agent named Andre who confirmed the same thing. At this time I just want to cancel my service. I refuse to pay $265 per month for phone, basic cable and internet and honestly I dread every year having to call in as the promo expired and you then start to charge full price. Today I spent 3hrs on the phone, with no resolution and they also said they could not even cancel the order that Jose had placed as it was showing open. update 10/21 Supervisor Francesca confirmed that you are no longer supporting uverse for new customers and could only reduce rate by $20, there is no bundle deal with Directtv steam to lower my costs for TV as internet is not offered in my area so I would have to pay more on current internet to get lower rate on directv .. hmm...

I dont get why you have a services that you cannot afford on the normal price.
Promos are additional, they dont increase the price, you return to the regular price, big diference

Well there you have it. Time to stop begging. Pay TV is simply entertainemnt, not a requirement of life. They don't owe you a cent in discounts. Those are there as temporary perks.
If you can't afford the service without discounts, then it is up to you to arrange services within your budget or go elsewhere. You are not entitled to anything.
TV provider =/= soup kitchen. Time to take personal responsibility.

This is out of principle
Why would I as a loyal customer pay more than a new customer
Their current bundle deal for a new customer is half of what I am paying as a loyal customer
That is wrong 😕

The intro rate is not sustainable. It is an investment by the company that has to be discounted enough for someone to start service, or possibly switch from another. Then the company has to hopefully make money back on that investment. It is not sustainable as a long term price.
If they just kept giving those intro discounts to their "loyal" customers, they would run themselves into the ground and out of business. It is the welcome basket, a one-time perk, not something you would continously get.
What is principal when you price yourself so low you cannot afford to maintain the service? Too bad we cannot get rid of discounts everywhere and just let people deal with what stuff actually costs from start to end. Make it a hard point that if you cannot afford it, don't get it.

LOL At&T revenue just for 2nd quarter 2022 = hmm... does not look like a company hurting ! https://www.investors.com/news/technology/att-stock-att-earnings-t-stock-q32022/
I 100% agree with you, Everyone pays the same a fair and reasonable amount for ALL - I should not be paying 3X of new customers .. just not right!

Everybody was a new customer once, even you. So the intro price is for a limited amount of time and then they pay like you do. They are just at that part in the process.
As much as I would love to see no discounts for all, customers of the world would still whine and throw a tantrum. Bottom line, you are no longer a new customer. As such, your intro special is over. You are not entitled to more. Don't like it, go elswhere.

Every subscription service company (TV, phone, internet, water, magazines, newspapers - whatever) offer new customers promo pricing to get them in the door or to take them from their competitors. Think of it like loss leaders at a brick & mortar store. The sellers make little or maybe even lose money on those promos - as everyone here has noted, they hope to make their money from the subscribers after the promo expires.
People generally don't look at it that way - they tend to think of the promo price as the real price, not a discount from the real price. If no one offered promo pricing, then this game (and people's complaints about prices returning to "normal" when the promo pricing expires) would go away, and possibly the "real" prices could even come down a small amount. But as soon as one company offers promo prices, everyone else has to in order to compete for customers who only (or at least largely) look at that price.

I've been a uverse TV and internet customer since April 2016. My current bill jumped $27 for new billing cycle. I negotiated the loyalty discount last year and got $15 discount instead of $20. Ok, I'd like a discount for being a senior citizen and a vested AT&T employee! If I can keep my bill around $170 a month that's in my budget! I'll be calling again soon for how to lower my bill. Exhausting. Also, unlike previous years, I didn't get ANY alerts on the "my AT&T" app as to price changes that will be forthcoming Not one! That's not cool.

Beating a senior and a vested employee does not get you a discount.

Dear Constructive,
Perhaps, but it would be nice IF Seniors and vested pension people were able to get discounts on TV and internet services.
I really like my uverse service and don't want to change, but will try to get the loyalty discount and if not, will be looking at other options.

So, this morning I called the 800# to request a loyalty discount for my TV service. After a few minutes of rep number one trying to give me a 25% discount if I changed to att cellphone service, I was transferred to the Loyalty Department. I WAS in fact given the $20 discount for the next 12 months QUICKLY. This was the fastest response time over the past 2 years. Our internet loyalty discount of $20 continues and is ongoing. Thankful for this but will continue to research other TV and internet options. I should have asked, and I forgot, but I'm guessing if I go with YouTube TV I will lose my internet loyalty discount. Anyway, I thought I let you all know about my experience today.

*clarification to previous post. We are currently with Verizon for cellphone service and won't change. Therefore, the 25% discount was a non starter. Then I got transferred to Loyalty department.
