Refer A Friend is a JOKE

So the neighbor down the hall referred me with AT&T Refer A Friend, I signed up for U-Verse Voice, Internet and Cable and got it set up. She got $75 credited to her account somehow since the site is so messed up. I was also supposed to get a $75 reward card. I waited a week to sign up for service and went back several times to check on the status, couldn't change anything so assumed the process was continuing. After a couple weeks I used the site to email support and never heard back anything. Calls led no where. More emails to support through Refer A Friend site and no replies. Finally got a voice today on the phone but she said Rewards can do nothing. Refer A Friend is only an online site. (That doesn't answer calls or email inquiries) Again finally got an "Agent" involved through "Customer Care" who tried for an hour to resolve this and NOTHING. I emailed support again and so did the AGENT. Refer A Friend is awful. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

I went through a Refer-A-Friend process last year about this very same time.  I did have to watch over it like a hawk.  After I filled in my part, and I watched my friend fill in his, and it sat in "verification" status for over 6 weeks, they tried to tell me that it had been cancelled because my friend didn't respond.

However, I always got a response in 40 to 48 hours each time I filled out the web form, and they responded to my e-mail replies in the same timeframe.  I was able to convince them that we had done everything properly and we both got our $50 AT&T cards.  I then used mine to pay my AT&T bill online.

Thanks JefferMC. They have changed the response time to 3 business days. We shall see. The page says I was denied because I was referred too soon. They should honor this since it's such a nightmare to navigate

Still nothing, they have been ignoring my emails for over a month. What in the world is wrong with that program that no one from AT&T can answer for it

PM one of the Community Managers and ask them to intercede for you:  @ms_unicorn or @ATTDmitriyCM .  I don't know that they can get an answer, but if anyone can, it's them.

Hilarious! Robots have taken over AT&T. My FIFTH email to them this morning was not so kind. In reality, who could really recommend an over priced inferior product like U-Verse anyway? The friend that referred me and got her $75 credited to her bill is on thin ice too. 🙂

"Hi David,

Thanks for reaching out to us. I understand how frustrating it may be to have your referral situation handled in a timely manner. I do apologize as the social media group can not fix or handle issues regarding our referral program. All inquiries must be email to them. They can be contacted by going to https://referrals.att.com/common/help.pg

Hopefully they will be able to rectify this for you.

Thanks
Miguel "

Yesterday, I got some robo reply (a FIRST!) to what the AT&T Customer Care agent (Scott) wrote over a week ago in which he got the story all wrong and he filled out the forms completely wrong too. They have yet to answer any of my emails (at least FIVE over the course of two months, now apparently the offer is expired) Do not try to call them, if, and when you ever get connected to the right place the robot says "The Refer A Friend program is an online program only. Good bye." Must be nice, never answer emails and eliminate all other forms of communication. Great way to run a program.

@DaveandFrank1, rumor has it that there was some data glitch that prevented your rewards from being issued properly, but that it has been corrected and you should be receiving your rewards.

Why you're not getting any response from them directly and why there doesn't seem to be a backup communication channel is a different issue that I'm not sure can get solved.

I got the Rewards card several days ago for $150, and that was a process in and of itself as that was screwed up too. I had gotten an email saying it was coming and then when I called inquiring about the Refer A Friend Program, I finally got to "Rewards" and found out that was messed up too. Soooo, between U-Verse Internet NEVER working correctly, the Rewards card being messed up and NO ONE at AT&T taking responsibility for Refer A Friend and my $75, everyone can rest assured I won't be referring anyone ever for U-Verse. Well, at least not friends. I am not a happy camper here in AT&T world.

So you got $150 in rewards and was only due $75 and you're not happy?  I don't understand.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

They are two different things. There was a reward card of $150 for signing up with AT&T. When my friend down the hall referred me through Refer A Friend she got $75 and I was supposed to get $75. She got hers but I never got mine. Refer A Friend is run by robots and no people at AT&T want to associate with it. 🙂
