Reward card scam

Judging from the posts, I am not the only one taken in.  There was supposed to be a $200 reward card for originally signing up.  It never arrived.  A phone call informed me that it took a couple of months to process....piffle.  A second call resulted in an apology for no card and by way of recompense, high (?) speed internet was offered as a sop.  Again no card!.  Called again and received another apology, a promise to correct the situation and...would I like to try the U300 service?  This was January....waited on the 300 channels, they never arrived...the card never arrived...if fact, nothing arrived.

Called again yesterday, went through a supervisor for whom English was not a native tongue.  Finally received the 300 channels only to find out I had been paying for them since January.  But, bright spot, the upgrade came with another reward card....which was never received.

Finally was referred, for the first time to the reward center and was informed...SORRY, time has elapsed, we sent you a letter.

How many others have been scammed by this crap?  It will make a great episode for Judge Judy.

When I click on the link for "here" in the body of your reply, it opens a private message page and the first box, 'send to' needs a proper title or username to communicate with AT&T support. Please provide.

@Randiane, when you click on the word "here", and the PM form appears, you will notice that beside the word "From:"and above the box where you could put it additional recipients— the user id "ATTCustomerCare" appears, meaning that's where the PM will be sent.

You do not need to type any additional addresses.

I too am a victim of this scam. After 3 attempts to get my rewards card...still no results. Long phone calls.....no help several transfers to other people then disconnect with no way to recall after over 35 min on phone. One 45 min email attempt with live person the other end....one transfer...then disconnect with no way to get back. Also they have email but no response. There are several ways to resolve this. The first and easiest is to just fulfill your obligation. Plain and simple I was promised 350.00 reward card. Why should it be so difficult?

if you can help that would be great.

Not only did they dmage my property installing services but they are hassling me about the gift reward. One agent told me I can just always cancel my service and STAY with Comcast. After a busted water pipe from getting Direct TV I should have listed to ATT and stayed with Comcast

They promised $250 in 11/2015.  After 5 calls in 3 months, I've finally received $200 out of the $250.  I escalated to a supervisor today for the remaining $50 and made sure she gave me her employee ID #.  I told her that I will be filing a complaint with both FTC and the BBB and will include her employee ID #.  She got nervous and apologized but I told her too little too late.   Can't believe they're willing to lose $4,000 per year (Uverse and ATT Wireless) in business for a lousy $50 gift card.....

I'm glad you've gotten as far as you have! If I don't receive my 200$ Visa card I will be calling back for .... I lost count how many times. But the next time I call I will also inform them that I too will be filing complaints with whoever will listen. I will also be sure to get the Reps employee ID #!

AT&T ARE YOU LISTENING?????

Updating my post above (#66), I filed a complaint with both the FTC (yesterday) and BBB (this morning).  At 7pm (ET) today, I received an e-mail and a voice mail from AT&T's office of the president indicating that they are no longer able to provide a $50 reward card but will place a $50 credit to my Uverse account instead within 1 to 2 billing cycles. We shall see...  I highly urge all of you to file as I have.

No, the offer was for $300 but Direct tv was like you can cancel if you want and ATT was like I can give you $100 more its still not $300 total. I plan on just reporting to FTC.

A quick google search and I just filed complaints with both organizations myself! It's been the experience from hades (with AT&T, the FTC and BBB were quite easy to work with... funny how that works).

This will allow you to file a complaint about AT&T with the BBB: http://www.bbb.org/search/?splashPage=true&type=name&input=AT%26T&location=&tobid=&filter=business&radius=&country=USA%2CCAN&language=en&codeType=YPPA

To file with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#&panel1-1

@jboudevin   Why would I need any FTC or BBB websites as I've gotten all the rewards I've been entitled to in last 7 1/2 years. Smiley Very Happy

I got UVerse installed on January 4th with a promise of a $150 Visa Card, so called today.  After a 37 minute nightmare with tech support, sales, customer "service" and finally the Rewards Center I finally talked to someone who promised to help. But here's the deal: first he said it was my fault because they sent letters indicating I needed to "claim" my reward and I must have lost or destrooyed the letters. Claim?  Why don't they just send the  card without the customer having to engage them.  Oh wait, I know!  It's so they push more crap on you that you don't want.  In my 8 minutes of agony with Mr. Rewards he a) told me I was risking my life my not having a landline to call 911, tried to jam an upgraded Internet package on me, and c) implied he was doing me a HUGE favor because my rewards had actually "expired" and he was going out of his way to help me.

ATT&T Rewards is nothing but a big pretense to a) not actually pay what they owe you and b) make you call to get jammed up by pushy and agressive sales bullies.
