Reward card scam

Judging from the posts, I am not the only one taken in.  There was supposed to be a $200 reward card for originally signing up.  It never arrived.  A phone call informed me that it took a couple of months to process....piffle.  A second call resulted in an apology for no card and by way of recompense, high (?) speed internet was offered as a sop.  Again no card!.  Called again and received another apology, a promise to correct the situation and...would I like to try the U300 service?  This was January....waited on the 300 channels, they never arrived...the card never arrived...if fact, nothing arrived.

Called again yesterday, went through a supervisor for whom English was not a native tongue.  Finally received the 300 channels only to find out I had been paying for them since January.  But, bright spot, the upgrade came with another reward card....which was never received.

Finally was referred, for the first time to the reward center and was informed...SORRY, time has elapsed, we sent you a letter.

How many others have been scammed by this crap?  It will make a great episode for Judge Judy.

I have had a similar situation to occur. Still waiting on a $200 reward card. I called and asked how long and when will it be sent. They gave me a similar response, "It will take a couple of months." Still, no $200 reward card.  I feel as if I have been taken advantage of. I was calling about my cell phone service and was told about a promotion for Direct TV. A supervisor verified the agreement. I am sending a letter to their corporate office. I find this practice unacceptable. Making an offer and not upholding it is unacceptable.

Yes the reward cards are a scam if I have to pay these pro rated charges and not the price I was told. With all the charges for service it ends up being like about 215 dollars in pro rated charges hint they take the money right back in fees. This is a scam. If you don't ask questions they will rip you off. So the 200 Visa card is paid back in full and then some.

Except this doesn't work, as it's been 8 weeks for me I have clicked on this link and apparently, my $300 rewards card isn't there...in fact it says there is no rewards card attached to this account. I was promised $300 and I want my $300.

Oh my!! At least I'm not the only one that fell for it!! I have called and talked to 15+ people about what I was promised and what I have received, billing wise AND that rewards card! I have been calling since a week after I was connected and each time told there was nothing more I had to do....it'll be 3 weeks. I was told that at least 4 times. Today....it's too late...I had to claim it within 90 days of being installed. I'm thinking that one of the many times I've called constitutes "claiming".   I'm not playing anymore. Today when I got off the phone with them for the umpteenth time...I filed with the BBB and Federal Trade Commission (scam/fraud).  Hope others have or will do the same!!!!

Absolute lies every time someone opens their mouth. Going on 9 'months of waiting on the reward card. Absolute joke!!! Total bait and switch. They offer an incentive to get you in with no intentions of paying out.

Wow the same exact thing happened to me. They offered me the same two gift cards. They never arrived and now they are telling me they are expired and they cant do anything about it. This is not resolved!!!!!. It is a shame that a big corporation such as this allows this scam to take place.

I have been an AT&T customer for over 30 years and never have I been given the run-around as I have with this Visa Reward Card scam when I signed up with DirecTV. When someone tells me to look for a letter in the mail to redeem my reward, you better believe that I look for a letter from AT&T. Customer care is saying that since it wasn't returned by the USPS that it must have been delivered. Really? You believe that over the word of a 30+ year customer? Sad, sad, sad. It may be time for us to break up, AT&T.

I suppose they think they have me locked in for 2 years. It won't bother me a bit to dump them. If I don't get satisfaction in next 30 days not only am I canceling but will be one that will slam them from now on. If everyone would flood the customer service at Att and Any state office available to you, they might get the word, My credit card on file expires in 2 months. Let them try and collect.

Hummmm.... I wonder how AT&T would feel if we paid our bills this way:  Please provide a tracking number and proof of bill receipt.  Ok, We'll put the check in the mail in about 2 - 4 weeks. You'll need to cash the check within 1 week of the check issuance date.  Sorry, stale dated checks will not be honored.

My elderly mother was promised $350 in reward card. Not notice of the card arrived in the mail. I went to the rewards site, but it showed no eligible rewards. Called AT&T. Was on the phone with them for 90+ minutes. AT&T claims notice of the cards was sent to my mother's address with instructions on how to activate. She says she didn't receive any notification and I believe her because she would have shown me anything she received from them. Now AT&T says the cards are expired. It seems A&TT has devised a very good way to screw the customer.
