Ridiculous bill increase
My bill went from 140 to 220+ for the last two bills, and that's 60+ more than I expcted. The reason is that I already upgraded my TV and Internet service for a new 2-year promoion rate before my last promtion expired. The promotion was offered on my account page two months ago when I was alerted that my old promotion would expire in 2 days. I called last month to have the bill fixed, and the customer rep told me it's a mistake that would be corrected soon, and the new amout is 135 before tax.
The correction didn't take place unfortunatelly, and still got 220+ on this month's bill, so I called again today. The support rep told me that my bill should be 135+tax, not 200+tax that I received, exactly the same as what the first rep said. However, he came backing saying somehting really rediculous after cosulting his supervisor to settle the case. He told me that the promotion I signed up was for the same 2-year period as my original promotion is even though it says it's for 24 month on it. Therefore, that upgraded promotion expired 2 days after I signed up.
I am planning to switch to Comcast soon, but want to warn others how AT&T scams its customers like this.

This is the third person that I can remember in the last three days that wants to "WARN" everyone about AT&T. This must be the newest method that other providers instruct their employees to use when trying to get business away from AT&T.
When we are accused of being employees of AT&T, we receive steak knives as a gift. When we accuse someone else of being an employee of another provider, shouldn't they also receive an appropriate gift in return?

@byesoon Sorry to say that may be true, my advice is always wait til the day after your promo expires b4 getting another promo.
Other users have posted similar things in the past. 😉

@mibrnsurg Thank you for your reply. It seems those reps were not traind on this, hence both thought the same thing as I originally did, and the second rep didn't tell me otherwise until consulting his supervisor. I would have had cancelled my account then if the first rep(Sabrina B. on 10/25) told me the right answer a month ago. The 2nd rep, Adam K, whom I chatted with yesterday told me that he would put high priority notes regarding my concern. I wonder if it will do me any good though.

Contact ATT Customer Care on the link in my signature below,.
Send them a Private Message, on this link, and they should be able to give the help needed to solve your promo problems. They are available M-F 8am-11pm Eastern time (also around on weekends, FB Twitter Social Media Managers), response may take up to 2 business days.
This is not the regular CS/TS phone people, but the social media Community Specialists that know the people to contact to get things done and gone above and beyond for me. They can do more than any phone rep.
Include your name, account #, email address and a good phone # (land or cell) and time to contact you on.
Check the blue PM envelope, upper right on every page, for their reply. Remember the holiday may slow things down though. Good luck 😉
