So I want to find out about my usage for the last few months as AT&T is going to start charging after grace period which starts 5/23/16.i have the elite plan with download speed 6Mbps and 300GB's per month. On 5/23, the meter will be available on the att.com website. Until then you can only estimate your usage.

AT&T is just using scare tactics to get people to sign up to their TV bundles which no one wants any more. Vote with your wallet and check out the other options such as Charter and DSLextreme. Both offer unlimited usage at lower prices and faster speeds, no strings attached.
BTW, the FCC just told Charter they couldn't set limits on their customers' internet usage, even if Charter allowed up to 1 Tb compared to AT&T's puny 300Gb! Charter has been forced to provide unlimited usage to all their customers for the next 7 years.
File a complaint with the FCC and let's see how long before they slap AT&T too.

Telling customers that 95% of you won't be affected doesn't sound like much of a scare tactic, but surely they would like people to sign up for a video subscription. My personal experience with Charter is that I didn't consitently get the speed I paid for and my connection had to be manually reset over and over again. I find AT&T more reliable and easily enough bandwidth for what I need.
The FCC is imposing those restrictions on Charter as a condition of approval for the merger with TWC; should Charter drop the merger, it would not be under these restrictions. The FCC imposed other restrictions on AT&T to approve its merger with DirecTV.

Perhaps 5% of the customers consume 30% of the bandwidth? For example, there's one single company (Netflix) that "used" 37% of Internet bandwidth a year ago.
