Any options before replacing Receiver/DVR? Can recorded shows be transferred?
My AT&T U-verse Receiver/DVR appears to be glitching out. I was watching a recorded show last night when screen went black and it tried to reboot, but failed to complete the reboot. Now it just keeps rebooting. I have unplugged/replugged everything (TV, Receiver/DVR, and Gateway), but it still doesn't work, just keeps rebooting. I'm assuming that it's the Receiver because my Alexa works (therefore the Wi-fi is functioning, so Gateway is not the issue) and I was able to get to my Firestick and stream (therefore my TV, including remote controls, and Wi-fi are functioning). I'm assuming at this point that I'm screwed and will need to replace the Receiver/DVR but I hate that I will lose all that I have recorded. Is there any way to save that recorded stuff, like transfer it to some kind of drive or maybe onto a new Receiver/DVR?

Sorry but you'll lose all of your recordings but not your schedule. Been there....done that....a couple of times.
Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer recordings to a new DVR. I've had recordings of my daughter on the local morning news shows and lost those in a DVR replacement.

Hello. Which DVR do you have there? Do you hear any out of the ordinary sounds coming from the DVR?
If the hardware appears otherwise fine, I’d try a factory reset as a last resort before a replacement. Unplug and plug the DVR three consecutive times using 3 second intervals. It’s good enough to just pull the plug out of the rear of the unit. If done correctly, the box will initialize with a gray gear screen at which point the box will fetch code from an att server. This will take some time. When it finishes the standard Uverse screen will appear. Your recordings will remain intact.
This hardware is sensitive to power quality. I always recommend a UPS if possible.
