Being billed for equipment lost during Harvey

I’m not sure what to do.  After losing everything during Hurricane Harvey I called AT&T to cancel my Uverse service.  The representative was very kind.  Since that time I’ve had multiple requests from AT&T for the return of the equipment.  Each time I’ve called, explained again what happened and have been told not to worry.  I would not be billed.  Today, I received an invoice for the equipment with a due date in early July.  I don’t know what else to do to resolve this issue.  Everyone I talk to assures me it has been taken care of, but it continues to be a problem.
