CANNOT CONNECT TO PROXY SERVER PROBLEM

When I go online I get a error message saying the computer cannot connect to the proxy server, I have gone into the internet options and unchecked the proxy box and that works, but should I have to do that everytime I turn my computer on?  I would appreciate a more permanent solution to the problem. Thank you.
