Client Initialization / "red x 3" errors when using my friends spare receiver

I was given a brand new Cisco spare receiver, same unit as the one in my bedroom, and want to use it in another bedroom. I attempted to test it first by swapping it with the unit in my bedroom since they are identical. When I first powered the unit I received a client initialization error. I've  power cycling and then a hard reset. After the reset process is finished, the screen displays the "red X" with the number "3" error message. What can I try next?

Hi @thebartman1970,

We apologize about the issues you are having with trying to get the extra receiver working. For the receivers, they are leased equipment, so they will not work if you do not get them from AT&T. Also, with the error you are getting, it sounds like that receiver may be defective. I would be happy to look into this for you, and I will send you a private message to discuss this issue further.
