closed captions changing color randomly

i have the closed captions on all the time since i am hard of hearing and since the last update, they have been changing color at random.

I checked the options on the reciever and they added a lot of settings in this last update, auto color, auto font etc.

I changed them all to white on black background etc so that NOTHING was set to automatic.

They still change color at random, especially after the end of some shows.

 There will be a "This show sponsored by blah blah" in blue for example, then every other sentence after that will be blue lettering (or yellow or green or red.. whatever it chooses) 

Black on white then next sentence in color on black background.

My question is...

Is this a bug or is my set top box not saving the settings correctly?
