You can wirelessly connect your smart tv to the gateway.  This provides an internet connection to the tv for whatever it supports over the internet.

If you have Uverse tv, it does not support sending its TV signal wirelessly and requires an HDMI cable.

U-verse does not have an app on any smart tv other than those that support Fire OS inboard, such as insignia brand.  But even in that case, only a subset of functionality is available, and, no DVR support.  Uverse as a service needs a technology update but give they’re not adding new customers, I’d forget about that thought.  It works for what’s there.

If you really meant that you want to replace the HDMI cable between an U-verse TV Receiver and the TV with something wireless, then you would need to purchase something like this:

It's a pair of devices that send HDMI between them wirelessly instead of over a cable.   I have no idea how well they work, but they exist.  This would be what you would need with any device with HDMI output to connect it wirelessly to your TV.
