Connecting U-verse to insignia tv
After a power outage in the neighborhood my connection to a new smart tv doesn’t work with my U-verse box. The smart tv connects to the internet but it seems like the U-verse can’t connect with the tv.

Is this the DVR or a receiver?
How is (or WAS) your TV and receiver connected?
HDMI or component?
Have you rebooted any Equipment? The receiver? The DVR? The gateway?

I believe the receiver is unable to connect to the tv. In the past it has always been connected to the gateway wireless. I have rebooted the gateway already. I have connect it to the smart tv by HDMI

So it is a wireless STB.
Try this....
Unplug (pull power) from everything, the gateway, the DVR, the receiver.
Wait 30 secs.
Plug in Gateway FIRST. Allow all lights to come on.
Plug in DVR next. Allow it to become functional.
Plug in each receiver separately. Save the one in question for last.
I've had power outages and subsequent power surges fry equipment. This may be the case. If so, call CS 1-800-288-2020 for replacement equipment.

We're here to help with your U-Verse receiver, @Mike Schmitt!
Just as our ACE asked, how are you attempting to hook your receiver up to your TV via HDMI or a component cable? Depending on the method, it's possible the power outage could have some lingering effects on your equipment.
Let us know!

It’s still not connected. The receiver try’s to hook up but nothing connects. The box is good because I tried it on another set and it had no problems connecting. The light that shows connecting to internet shows half red half green. HDMI cord connects to back of receiver and to the port 1 on the set. Do I need to have a digital optical output jack?
