Do I have a faulty DVR receiver?
I am having a problem with intermitent sound on the aux audio port out. My TV is connected via HDMI port but I have a TV Link connected to the aux audio port so that I can hear the sound using a Phonak Compilot. I wear a hearing aid and have a cochlear implant.
The sound that comes through the aux audio port to the TV Link and then to the compilot seems to intermittently break up or go away completely. I have replace the compilot and have tried to diagnose the problem and it seems to be caused by a faulty aux audio port signal. If I mute the sound or stop the recording or play back of a recorded program it will resolve the issue momentarely but does not fix it.
My question is, could it be a fault in the receiver?

No, I do not have another receive I can use for testing. The aux audio port is on the receiver not the TV.
I have now replaced the Compilot and the TV link devices and the same interference continued for several more days. Then for some reason reason the interference has just gone away. I can't be for sure but I suspect my upstairs neighbor was using something that was causing the problem. I don't know what the frequency the TV link works on but it seems it is an open frequency and is subjuct to other deivices overriding its frequency and power output. It only has about a 20 - 30 foot range.
Problem has gone away for now.
