dvr ends before program ends by 3 minutes or more

Tape?   Any channel any program at any time?

 

I don't think I've heard that one before.  You should check one (or more) of your scheduled recordings and look at the start and stop times are correct.  If this is really happening all I can suggest is the old motto, "when in doubt, reboot"!   Reboot the gateway (pull plug for 15 secs. and let it fully reboot) and then the dvr (pull plug for 15 secs.).

after what I want and the finish is there
