DVR is not working.

Hello,
When I press the recordings button on my remote I get a message on the TV that says" The recordings list is unavailable. Make sure this TV receiver and the DVR receiver are connected to the network." Instead of the list of all the shows that I have recorded. I'm getting this message on all the TVs. Nothing is recording on the TV and I can not rewind or fast forward on the TV shows that I'm watching. I press the red record button it says scheduled recording and the red light that indicates something is recording on the receiver does not come on. How can I check to make sure that they DVR receiver is connected to the network? Please help. Thank you 🙂

Did you try to reboot your dvr (unplug for about 15 seconds)?

When I first had Uverse installed with new equipment the record functions worked fine. But after 3 months or so I could not record or see the record list. I went to the support group at AT&T and was instructed to unplug, reboot and restart the Arris VAP2500 wireless access port and the receiver. After numerous tries thew same results happened. I was told by a friend, I needed a new access port. I purchased the same make and model on-line. I received and paid for a "reconditioned" unit. I went through the same install process and I was able to record once again. That lasted about a month and then the lack of recording started again. I can't find a brand new Arris VAP2500 unit. Every one is reconditioned. If in fact the Arris unit is the problem; where can I get a brand new unit? I know I can switch over to Direct tv,, but I really want to continue with Uverse.

(1) You should not be purchasing the ARRIS WAP.  If you have one that is malfunctioning, AT&T will replace it.

(2) The WAP should last much longer than a couple of months, provided:

  a) It is not in some enclosure where it isoverheating,

  b) It's getting good, clean power, and

  c) It's not located too closely to another Wireless Access Point or Router (or other source of similar Radio Frequency Energy).  You should separate it by at least 3 feet from the U-verse Gateway.

I'm assuming that recording functions continue to work fine on the TV directly connected to the DVR, just not on the TV connected to a wireless receiver.  Is this correct?

Have you replaced the DVR?

@sjbruce50

Hello.  Your post is unclear.  You’re having an issue with a U-verse TV settop box connected to a WAP?   Can I assume you’ve taken the typical recommended troubleshooting steps of rebooting all your equipment?
