DVR Randomly Turns off
My DVR Randomly Turns Off uncommanded? Then display on TV asks you to press OK to watch TV?
Why is my DVR ramdomly turning off uncommanded? It will happen 3-5 times per day?

The DVR or any of the other set top boxes should show that screen 15 minutes after watching a recorded or on demand program or 3 hours of inactivity during live tv watching. Aside from that, is the rg rebooting too? Internet and/or phone still working without dropping out? Trying to rule out the rg rebooting and making the dvr lose connection or if the dvr is the only piece of equipment being affected.

There are two parts to the DVR - The viewing & the recording. The recording is always ON as long as it is plugged in.
The viewing side works like all other STBs. It swaps between asleep(showsthe OK screen) and on for viewing.
After about eight hours of inactivity an "on" STB will go to sleep. Also, if menu is left up it will go to sleep after few minutes.
If these are your symptoms, the behavior is normal. If it is more often, you may want to ask for a new one.

Actually will show 'press OK' screen about 1 minute or so after those things stop playing here.
I've watched Live Tv for much more than 3 hours and nothing happens, it's 8 hours before the 'press OK' screen will come up w/no activity. 😉

Hi @cahaguesr
Just checking up on your post. Hopefully the feedback from the ACE's helped with this issue. Are you still seeing the DVR go to sleep constantly on a daily basis?
