DVR will NOT record a show. EVER! It refuses to record it

So I have tried for weeks and it will not record "So you think you can dance" Even if the show is on air I can't record. This is silly. Why? (BTW: Power cycled 100 times ONE HUNDRED TIMES! so do not ask)

I'd try a new DVR.

So...

(1) what happens when you try?

(2) are you on the TV hooked directly to the DVR, or a TV on another TV receiver?

Equipment fails.

If you’ve done the troubleshooting and it hasn’t corrected the problem, it sounds like you need a new DVR.

Hey @cwhiten, we understand you’re unable to record any shows on DVR, we’re glad to help and let’s walk you through the right path.

We recommend you to check on how to troubleshoot DVR/receiver.

Restart your U-verse TV receiver (DVR) by holding down the POWER button for 5 seconds, then press it again to restart. (This takes 5-8 minutes and impacts any DVR recordings in progress.)

Press the Recorded TV button on your remote if your recorded program is frozen or missing.

Remote control help via the Troubleshooting & Resolve tool.

  1. Press Menu on your U-verse TV remote control.
  2. Use the arrow keys and scroll down to Help, then press OK.
  3. Scroll down to Information and press OK.
  4. Scroll right and select Troubleshoot & Resolve.
  5. Select TV from the top menu.
  6. Choose DVR and follow the prompts.

Program didn't record.

  • Confirm your recording settings by pressing the Menu button on your remote. Select Recordings > Scheduled and press OK to validate your settings.
  • Make sure you didn’t select the Record Only When No Conflict Occurs option when scheduling a series for recording. If you did, it prevents the DVR from recording an episode if another program is scheduled to record at the same time.
  • If you press the Record button from the on-screen guide, there are three options:
    • 1 time – sets a single recording.
    • 2 times—sets the series for that channel in that time slot
    • 3 times—cancels the recordings.

Let us know if this helps.

I am using the DVR directly connected to the TV. I am programming it to record using the guide and then pushing the red button on the remote to record. The program looks god and there are verified no conflicts then the next day there is no program and the show was never recorded.
