equipment return scam

I returned my equipment to exchange a box. I sent it to UPS as instructed and in a timely manner prior to deadline. Today I get a bill that shows a charge for the "unreturned" equipment. Unfortunately I can not find my receipt or tracking information to prove otherwise. I went back to the UPS store where I turned it in to and they proceeded to tell me the MANY situations that ATT charge for this very thing claiming to not have received the equipment. Also stated that they are unable to keep any record of the shipments like this due to a "clause" ATT has that restricts UPS to keep the records. I happen to be extremely unsatisfied with the UVerse/wifi service to begin with and will be researching a move of my business. Especially if ATT will not work with me to refund the amount owed to me!!!

hopefully att can find the tracking number.

AT&T is terrible at keeping track of their equipment and loves to bill for it.  I once had them bill me for a stb that I had returned 6 months earlier.  They wouldn't remove the charge until i sent them the tracking # and showed that they had signed for the delivery.

 

If all else fails, ask to speak to customer retention and pray they can help.

I am having this problem too. I even had my receipt and they still are not clearing the $300 charge. I have talked to several people and finally was given a ticket number and was told to call back in 10-15 days.  It is around that time niw so I am calling them again. This is so messed up. When I mention this to the customer service reps they don’t have a response.
