Equipment Return

I cancelled my service due to moving to non ATT serviced location.  I was told I had 20 days to return equipment.  I then get an email telling me to NOT return equipment and to recycle.  So my question is:  am I going to get a bill from ATT for my unreturned equipment or can I recycle it without worry?

I would keep it for at least 90 to 120 days…

If you are billed for non returned equipment, you can still return within 6 months of cancelling to have a refund of charges. After 6 months cannot return.

Or return anyway and keep the tracking receipt in case it comes back as needing returned.

Final billing could take 60 days thus want to keep equipment as just in case or return saving all information.

Here's what I'd do:

Take all equipment to FedEx or UPS. If they refuse, try another store. If they only take some, try the rest at a second store.

If you can, I'd make the second store the competing company. (If FedEx was your first option, make UPS the second.) If you can go to more stores, even better.

If you can go to stores at your new location, assuming it's another city, even better.

Whatever the final store refuses, hold on to.

Keep ALL receipts safe. If you can, take a photo of the receipt and save that on a cloud somewhere.

If it's been a year, it's *probably* ok to dump but I'd only dump if you don't have the space at your new place. If you really want to play it super-safe, try returning leftover stuff in intervals after the original refusal.

But, TBH, if the second store refuses, you're probably stuck with it....it never hurts to be safe, however.
