Error 4006 w/ Easy Remote on iOS

When launching to iOS app, I get this:

"There has been a problem connecting to the U-verse network.  Ensure you are connected to a U-verse WiFi Network, then launch the My Enabled Device application on channel <9301> and try again. Error 4006."

I am using an Airport Extreme connected to the U-Verse 3801HGV modem / router.  I use the Aiport Extreme for WiFi.

I tried plugging the U-Verse ISB7500 directly into the Airport Extreme.  I could then connect via the Easy Remote app but the DVR keept freezing and saying it was losing the television signal.

What's the proper way to configure my setup so I can use the Easy Remote app?

If you implemented your Airport Extreme as an Access Point (I think that's called Bridge Mode in the AE) such that it doesn't maintain its on private subnet but extends the subnet from the RG to its ports and Wireless Clients, then you could use the U-verse Connected features of iOS apps connected to it using WiFi.

I like managing my network with the airport app via my Mac.

I suppose if I knew the correct ports for the DVR / Easy Remote, I could
open that up via NAT.
