There is a certain arrogance in the response. I am changing systems for the convenience of ATT. I recently dvr'd a lot of time in the olympics I have not had a chance to watch. Why does ATT think it's okay to take that away. P.s. your solution would give me a permanent copy, and violate copyright. I just want get a chance to watch what I haven't seen. Please don't patronize me or denigrate me.
P.S. will the DVR play a format recordable by the VCR? I don't think so. So you apparently are just ridiculing me. Well how do I complain about a rude employee?
Recordings are stored on the DVR hard drive so when you change equipment, you will lose those recordings. The same is true if you have to replace a bad DVR.
It's happened to all of us.
P.S. The suggestion given was not patronizing. It's your only option. That or perhaps you could reschedule your new service until you can watch all of those recordings.
This is a common issue, but apparently one that dedicated dvr lessors do not want to solve. I don't know if the problem is content provider driven or if it's a Satellite company issue.
