How long does an update to Uverse DVR take to complete
Hello Everyone~
I was watching a recorded movie then took my dog outside and when I came back in there was a gear on my tv screen, which then turned into a red X.
Tried all I knew to do which is a lot :( from researching on web for years with so many issues...Then I unplugged power to DVR and unplugged from outlet for about 45 minutes.
When I plugged it all back in, gear was still there but now there is a horizontal line moving very, very slowly on the bottom of screen.
Looks like it is an update to the DVR but timewise it is going on for nearly 1 hour so I wonder if there is an issue to the update, maybe?
Hoping for some help so I can stop dealing with this since its been about 3 hrs since mess started. ATT techs said I have issue on lines and new tech out here on Monday. But I just had a tech here 10 days ago to upgrade internet from 50 to 75, he did some work outside and inside all he did was replace the same modem I had (that was new to me from 1 yr ago with nothing wrong with it)
Seems like maybe a coincidence that I am having this craziness so soon after he was here.
Anyway sorry for storytelling here but need greater minds than mine to help on this one!

Sorry but the dreaded gear is not an update but an indication of trouble with your DVR.
Call CS to get a replacement sent for a self-install.
