Hi @gereline1,

What model TV do you have and what brand is it?

My remote no longer works either. It just stopped responding. I have a vizio TV and an s30-s1b remote. Following the instructions on the back of the remote do not have any affect at all.

@Kristif8 - The first step is to try fresh batteries & see if it controls the STB. Programming here, under s-20 - https://www.att.com/help/tv-remotes.html

First thing I did. 😞 and oddly as I was pushing buttons to try to get it to work, it started controlling my clock radio but not the tv. Lol.

And as an update, now this morning the tv part of the remote seems to be working on its own again randomly but it won't control sound functions. . .volume or silence function. So what now?

@Kristif8 - The TV funcs are vol & off/on. If on/off is working, then the TV code should be all set. It should do vol/mute automatically. To program vol/mute for a working TV see the instructions under the link I posted in post 4.

Thank you so much for your help. I guess I just dimwittedly somehow accidentally pressed the"right" combination of buttons to get it out of whack in the first place. All is right with the world again. #firstworldproblems LOL. Thanks again for pointing me to the set up instructions. Appreciate the help! 🙂

Well like a bad penny I keep turning up. The remote is now programmed but no longer appears to have the range it did i.e. I can't use it from my bed any more which is where I always used it before .... maybe 12-15 feet max. Now since the problems started yesterday, I have to get up and get within 5 feet for it to work. Now what would you suggest? An exorcism? Hahaha!

@Kristif8 - Back to batteries. Did you wear them out?

They are brand new. I'm seriously leaning toward the exorcism idea 😁
