KGO in SF (1007) picture breaking up

Channel 1007 (and 7) are breaking up frequently. And of course it's the channel with the Raiders game on! KGO in San Francisco. All other channels fine; did a whole house reboot and problem remains. Anyone else experiencing any issues? I know at&t has been having some noticeable problems around the country ( http://downdetector.com/status/att/map/ ) Suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Just speculating here...

I've always assumed that the cable companies (including U-verse) receive the local TV channels (at their head end) using some form of antenna (maybe better than the average home OTA antenna).  On the other hand maybe they have direct feeds from the locals to the cable companies (via a land line or microwave).  I am not sure which one but I assumed antenna(s) because otherwise they would need individual feeds for every local they carry.

If U-verse does indeed use an antenna then perhaps KGO's signal strength was down due to transmitter problems from Sutro tower or KGO's feed to Sutro.  If I recall I was watching KGO 11PM news the other night and also saw some breakup.  Since I usually watch locals with my OTA antenna and occasionally (albeit rarely) see similar breakup I assumed it was just a signal strength problem (in fact I briefly forgot I was using U-verse and not my antanna).

What I will try to do for the next few nights is (try) to remember to watch KGO news on U-verse.  If I see breakup I can immediately switch over to my antenna.  If I see breakup there, then obviously it's the feed and nothing U-verse can do about it.

Thanks xyzzy. FWIW, all is fine now but it did last most of the day. Funny you should mention the tower; I live about 1/2 mile from it!
