Network wired Uverse box not getting signal, want to replace it with a wireless one. How do I do it?

We had a ATT outage yesterday in Orlando, FL. Now, one wired box doesn't work in the room it was in. It works in another room, so not the box. I tried two other network cables, no joy. Guessing something happened within the wall wiring/outlet. A wireless Uverse box works fine, so I'd like to return the wired box for a wireless version. Is there an office in Orlando where I can do this? If not, what are the next steps.

What exactly is your configuration (it's not clear to me what it is from your description)?  Is it,

  1. 1 dvr + 1 wireless ?
  2. 1 dvr + 1 wired receiver  + 1 wireless ?

If it's #2 then what is the wired receiver's model number (just in case it's a wireless receiver that's been hooked up as a wired).  To replace call ATT support (800-288-2020) and ask for a replacement.  They will instruct you to return the "old" receiver through a UPS Store.

If it's #1 then you cannot replace the dvr with anything other than another ATT replacement dvr.  The dvr is always hard wired to the gateway.  Replacement procedure is the same for all ATT uverse equipment.

By the way, if it is the dvr, is it connected to the gateway with ethernet or coax?

My configuration is 1 dvr  (Model Vip 1216),   and 6 wired receivers  (all Model Vip 1200) connected to my Gateway. My dvr is connected to my network by an ethernet cable and all my wired receivers are connected using coaxial cable. I don't have any wireless receivers connected to my network. Can anyone help me.

Thanks

Sam G.

My man  I  Serena [edited for privacy-please do not post personal or unique information such as but not limited to full names, employee ID numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, etc.] and I'm a uverse customer, there was a cable outage yesterday and my receive  to the tv kept rebooting and uploading and I still have no picture on my tv. I was  told that the outage  damaged the receiver on October 19,2019

I've had a power surge fry my modem so it can happen.  If you've tried rebooting the receiver and/or rebooted the modem and THEN rebooted the receiver and still no signal, call CS 1-800-288-2020.  If they determine that your receiver is damaged, a new one can be sent for a self-install.  You have 21 days to return the bad one via UPS/FedEx.
