New remote control can't program my TV
So I bought 2 new remote controls and I can't get them to control my TV power.
The codes I used previously with my old remotes don't work. That seems strange to me. Maybe remotes are different????
Anyway, I have a Vizio VP322 and a Sharp 25KM100. Can anyone help me?
I just want to be able to power on and off.

You can program the remote from your TV: Menu --> Help --> System Set-up --> Program your U-verse Remote

These are u-verse remotes? If they were not u-verse, the complaint would be about controlling the STB. If not u-verse, all codes are different - contact the mfgr.
There seem to be two u-verse code sets - one for gray and one for black.
There is on-line help under support and TV help under the menu - far right>> then system setup.
I think someone suggested channel 411.
If you really only want on/off there are key fobs designed to do that with no programing. I thought I had a website, but do not see it now. If you would be intersested I will search further.

Yes....I bought new black ones. I wonder why they would give a different set of codes. It only makes it frustrating for the users. I looked at the 411 video, but it only tells me how to do what I have already done. Doesn't help with the new codes.
I can control everything except powering the tc on and off. I think that is all that I need. You said there are "key fobs"
I don't know what that means. More info please.

Glad you got working. Although, you probably do not need it now here is more info. When I looked for the "key fob"
I thought of the flipperremote.com. I believe this works with U-verse, too.
Then I thought of really inexpensive remotes. Here is amazon, com listed low to high -
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_scat_10967581_ln?rh=n%3A10967581%2Ck%3Auniversal+remote&keywords=universal+remote&ie=UTF8&qid=1306779972&scn=10967581&h=9fa53ce5511e63e8c717722279cf1572819b1d0a#/ref=sr_st?keywords=universal+remote&qid=1306779993&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A!493964%2Cn%3A281407%2Cn%3A172532%2Cn%3A172664%2Cn%3A10967581%2Ck%3Auniversal+remote&sort=price
A couple rows down is a "key fob"
