New Sony BRAVIA 75" TV will NOT handshake with AT&T UVerse...

We just bought a new 4K 75" TV and got home to find out that the AT&T UVerse will not handshake with the TV.  I have tried the usual gambit of suggestions after reading forums, including...

-checking HDMI cables

-ensuring HDMI cable and TV input match

-swapping and trying every different HDMI connection on the TV

-turning the TV on 30 seconds before the receiver and vice versa

-performing a reboot on the TV and the receiver

Nothing so far has worked.  I plan on trying to run a component cable this evening, but I'm worried that I will not have the same high definition picture as I would with the HDMI.  Is there anything else that can be done?  Why does AT&T have an issue with communication to readily available TVs on the market?  Why would this be an issue and it wasn't an issue on my 10 year old Vizio TRULED TV?  I would expect to see an issue with older technology as opposed to newer.  Is there a fix I'm unaware of?

Given all the the things you tried what makes you think it's an HDMI hand shake problem?  If this is a brand new just out-of-the-box set maybe the tv has a problem with it's hdmi.  Sony makes great stuff. Indeed I prefer Sony's myself.  But maybe your brand new set has a problem.

Trying the component cables is a good idea.  I would have suggested it if you hadn't mentioned it.  I don't know if you would see any difference between component and hdmi or not.  But maybe, on a set as large as a 75 inch you might.  Certainly if the component cables don't work then you definitely know the set has a problem.

One thing you didn't mention that you tried is using different hdmi cables.  There are different versions of hdmi cables which should be backward compatible but who knows what the new set wants?  Is there anything in the tv's manual specifying anything particular about the hdmi cable versions?
