No Sound

My Uverse signal kept cutting off so I reset(restarted) both units several times. Now I seem to have a signal but no sound on the main TV. I ran all the troubleshoot options but still no sound. I know the problem is with the Uverse because the sound works fine on netflix!

@cptndk - I do not know of any trouble shoot options that apply.

If you rebooted the STB, yhem the problem would not be phantom mute.

Is it connected HDMI? then the cable could have failed. Can you swap with another? Swap means both directions.

If it is connected analog, could be a loose connecetion or bad cable. Although, unlikely that bothe L/R would be defectiv/loose.

Can you swap the whole STB with another?

Saying the audio works on another device is a good check, but complet, only if the same input is used.

I suppose you have to check to see if the STB audio level is up - Program the s-10 remote for the audio control to follow the mode button - att/ok(simultaneously)- 955-enter. In att mode press vol up - watch for 25 on the TVscreen.

To return to TV for audio control always - att/ok-955-tv-enter

I am not connected via HDMI. It is connected to a sound system and it WAS working before restarted the system x2. The second time it restarted there was no sound but the sound system works fine when I change the TV to Netflix. No change by raising the volume on the Remote, TV, or sound system. A loose connection would not work on Netflix and not on live TV. Sound is still available to my other TV (via WIFI) so it is not what’s coming over the line so it must be in the box controlled by the remote.
I don’t know what the STB is although I suspect it is the above mentioned box.
I could change it out with another if I was inclined to take apart x2 television systems, But I think would be more inclined to have service come and replace it since it HAS to be the problem. As far as I can tell, it does not have a separate volume control on the box itself.
I couldn’t imagine the sound going out of it, but it can’t be anything else.
I turned it off and left it off for 4 hours but still no sound when I turned it back on.

THANKS

@cptndk    menu>options>digital audio output  Make sure this is still on Surround Sound, sometimes reboots switch it back to Stereo.  Good luck 😉

I did this and yes it was on sterio but changing it had no effect. I watched Netflix last night with no problems and I watched the baseball game on the other TX (connected via WIFI) without issues.
