Non responsive wireless hand held control

Most of the time, the hand control does not communicate with the wireless box. When changing channels, the numbers repeat or the channels numbers don't get entered and the channel changes quickly even before I enter the channel #.

This is the second box I am having similar issues with.

Hi @Benfdo,

That is not good to read. What is in front of the receiver? Is anything around it that may be blocking the signal? Tempered glass? Is it in a cabinet?

Also, have the remote batteries ever been replaced? How old is the remote?

Let us know, we are here to help!

I had freezing issues with my old receiver. Then I received a new receiver box (don't know what model,it was a newer model) from ATT about a month ago. I had the non responsive problem with that box. When the technician visited my residence, the box was replaced by the tech with a new model - ISB7105 on 4/28 with a new controller and new batteries. Same issue exists. So frustrating. I have turned off the Wi-fi and restarted it. No difference at all.

Since this is happening with a second receiver now, we assume the problem may be coming from somewhere else. There may be something around the receiver that is interfering with the IR signal from the remote. One thing that might be doing it is the brightness from the TV. Try turning the brightness down to see if that is the issue. If it is, you may need to move the receiver away from your TV.

Wrong, not a good assumption.I have an old box upstairs, model ISB7005. I switched the box to the downstairs TV and it works perfectly well - no hesitation, no freezing, no issues at all.

There is no glass to block the signal. The box is located in a open cabinet.

The newer box which I moved upstairs still has the same issue. Its the box issue.

I don't mind getting an old box ISB7005.

Hi,

We just wanted to check in with you to see if you were having any other problems. The technician stated that it was the problem we listed earlier with the IR interference. It looks like they were seeing the interference from your TV and turned the contrast down to resolve the issue. Let us know if you are still having any problems, and we will be glad to help.

After the technician left, I had the same issues even after reducing the contrast.

I am using the old box for the down stairs.

Just for testing purposes, is it possible to move the wireless receiver away from everything and just have it away on its own?

Just for testing purposes, is it possible to move the wireless receiver away from everything and just have it away on its own? We were thinking that it may not have been the issue, since you have tested it in another location, but the technician sounded confident that it was working great after the changes. If still having issues, please reach back out to us via private message and we can get another technician out or reach back out to the one that came out there previously.

Hi, at this point I am tired of having many technicians coming to my house and give their own opinions. I am waiting for this contract to be expire and I want to be done with ATT Uverse.
