Quality of AT&T service - should I join AT&T?

Hi everyone, AT&T just missed two installation appointments with me today and I saw a very high number of complaints from other customers about this practice, in the span of several years. In many cases AT&T response invited a customer for a "private" communication, which leads me to believe that they offer random compensation for this type of inconvenience. However I am primarily interested in the quality of service rather than compensation for the absence of the quality. Can someone please tell me if the quality of AT&T customer support is any different for other types of services (service disruption, billing, technical services, etc.)?  Any advice to save me from joining and then leaving this provider?

I would check out other blogs such as yelp and consumer affairs before you make up your mind.  If you are happy with your current service I would stay with them.  Remember the saying 'if it isn't broke don't fix it'.
