We're removing one of our TVs and need to send the receiver box back. Do we need inform att that we're returning it or just send it by ups?

You will want to tell them to remove it from your account (since there is a monthly fee associated with it). Once you've done that, take the receiver and its power cord to your nearest The UPS Store or FedEx Office (one of these particular storefront's, not a shipping office for the parent company or a drop off) along with your U-verse account number. They should enter your account number, confirm the serial number is to be returned and give you a receipt. HOLD ON TO THIS RECEIPT LIKE A SILVER CERTIFICATE as proof you returned it.
