Recording on Friday mornings is disrupted.....
Every Friday I have a recording scheduled. It starts at 5am or 6am and goes for 2-3 hours. The start time and duration may vary but it generally always starts at 5am or 6am and runs for 2 hours or 3 hours. Every 4, 5, 6 weeks or so, the recording gets disrupted and only some of the program is recorded. It varies but this past Friday, only 26 minutes of the 2 hours recorded.
I have DOZENS of programs scheduled to record on all types of channels at all times of day and the only disruptions I've noticed are for this scheduled recording on this channel on Friday mornings.
I suspect there may be some kind of software update being pushed. Chat support couldn't understand what I was saying and couldn't tell me if this is what is happening.
Does anyone know of a way to change the time of day at which software updates are pushed to the receiver? If I could change this to update a few hours earlier, there should be no disruption.
FYI - the receiver is plugged into a UPS and we do have a whole house generator so loss of power is not the issue. I think I would also notice if my whole house lost power every 4-6 weeks.

I've now canceled the series recording and have set up a recording for the one episode on this Friday.
The program is Morning Q Live - Style Edition on channel 1003. This program actually broadcasts on Mondays and Friday at the same time. I only seem to have issues with the Friday broadcasts.

I've set up 2 additional recordings for 6 am this Friday. We'll see what happens.
What could be happening in my house that only affects a DVR recording? Nothing else is disrupted.

The latest is truly baffling. The one program I had scheduled to record from 6 am to 8 am recorded in 2 segments: 8 minutes and 1 hour 55 minutes. I had also scheduled to record a show on a different channel from 6 am to 7 am and another from 7 am to 8 am. Those 2 programs recorded in their entirety: 1 hour 3 minutes each.
So, the only conclusion I can come to is that there is something going on with that channel that is disrupting the recording. I cannot fathom what. But that is what the evidence points to now.
Any thoughts?
FTR - today, only 1 hour 28 minutes of the 2 hour program recorded.

So it sounds like it is only happneing on Q Live - Style Edition? Is it only on the Friday showing? Also, have you had a chance to watch that channel Friday Morning to see if there are any issues with it?

Many UPSes run periodic self-tests. If the UPS overloads or the batteries fail during this test there will be a power interruption. The next time you have a recording interrupted, check to see if the DVR rebooted: Menu -> Options -> System -> System Information, and look at the session time.

A UPS self test would make sense if everything was disrupted. But only one channel was disrupted. Recording of another channel at the same time went off without a hitch.
It is typically only the Friday show. Although I did have an issue with a Saturday morning show one time that I recall.

Have you had a chance to watch it live to see if there are any issues with the broadcast?
