Recording same tv series with different titles

I doesn’t look like you can record the same show that has different titles as a series.  U-verse, this is basic and available on most other DVRs.  Every time a new series of survivor comes on I have to make sure to remember to look for it so that I can set it to record again.  I also have the same problem with the programs on Hallmark.  They all have different names and so the series option is not available.
