Recordings list is unavailable.

We lost power. When the TV came back, and I tried to access my recordings, I had the following message, "'The Recordings list is unavailable. Make sure this TV receiver and the DVR receiver are connected to the network."

I have rebooted my system -- twice. How do I make sure the TV and DVR receiver are connected? Nothing changed other than losing power. I did not shift any of the receivers.

Are there any red lights on the gateway?

I have rebooted my system -- twice.

Exactly what did you reboot?  And how did you do that?  I suggest (a) pull plug on gateway for 15 secs. and wait for it to fully reboot and then, (b) pull plug on dvr for 15 secs.

THIS WORKS!!!

So if you had power outages that flashed on and off, and it says "recordings list is unavailable", just flip over all of your DVR/cable boxes and look for a code like ISB7000- this is the code for those "other rooms", not your main box. No matter what you were told by the installer, you must find the one in your house that is different from all the "others". Look for anything that has an "H" or other numbers.

Simple solution. Once you find the actual "home unit box" and reset that "one with the different letters and numbers", then it will fix all your problems. Just the 10 second power button reset, no need to do anything else (you can skip powering off the whole system, each tv and WiFi completely).

Just that little home box you didn't know was declared the hub - reset it and you are golden!

As a child of technologically challenged parents and grandparents, you are welcome in advance.

You got by with rebooting the DVR but there are times you need to do a Whole House Reboot.

A Whole House Reboot involves unplugging everything:  DVR, STBs, Gateway.  You will wait about 20 secs.  Plug in the Gateway first and wait for it to become functional.  Plug in the DVR next.  Wait for it to start working.  Plug in any STBs you have.

For future reference, you need to know which receiver is the DVR and which receiver(s) are Set Top Boxes   The DVR is hard wired to your gateway and is usually in close proximity to it.  Set Top Boxes can be wired or wireless.

This was to help those "non experts" like my parents and grandparents that don't know the lingo.  Yes, we failed when we reset the whole house and nothing worked until we found the actual "home unit box" that was different from all the others.  So I agree.  We reset the WiFi/hub system and tried restarting what we thought was the  But we didn't get good results.

For your own sanity and for the peace of those non-tech savvy peeps that call every time the microwave clock stops working, just try finding the main one first.  You may save time and avoid resetting ALL of them.
