Red wi-fi bars on UVerse box.

This is a recent development. We have had AT&T Uverse for years. The Wi-Fi indicator light was always green until recently and now it's red. The television is working fine just concerned about the red lights.

Let's make sure your U-Verse box is working properly, @Lego1970

 

We recommend checking out our gateway status lights guide to figure out why it's doing this. You may need to select your specific model from the dropdown. 

 

You can try using the Troubleshoot and Resolve tool to troubleshoot your U-Verse receiver. This could clear up the red light. 

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Select Help > Information > Troubleshoot & Resolve > TV > DVR.
  3. Follow the onscreen prompts.

Wireless receiver (7005,7105 or 2500) showing one or two RED bars when 3 to 5 bars would be green.

Some possibilities include

* having 5G wireless interference from either material, distance or different Wi-Fi device on similar frequencies.

* the WAP Wi-Fi weaken over time

* the Wi-Fi in the wireless receiver weaken

If have multiple wireless receivers try swapping locations along with keeping power supplies together with correct receivers.

If still problems after exchanging locations call and request replacement receiver / WAP be shipped to you.
