red x 6

We got the red x 6 this morning - can't find out what this means.

 

Tried rebooting the box (VIP2250, maybe 7 years old) a few times, still red x.  Other boxes in the house have no problem (except can't see recordings, on the problem box).  

 

Time for a new box?

Download client. Non-connection error, no network error, or location issue. Already in disaster recover (DR) state.

 

Try rebooting the gateway (pull plug for 15 secs. and let it fully reboot) and after that completes then the dvr again.

If that doesn't work then try the troubleshooting steps described here.

And finally call tech support (800-288-2020) if the troubleshooting steps don't work either.
